Want to know about roof costs? Interested in finding out information about new-roof-pricing? If so, you've come to the right place. We've assembled all the data you'll need to find the best roofing contractor and to see what conditions are considered in overall roof costs.

Here's the factors affecting roof-costs and new-roof-pricing that this specific webpage will cover:

Roof pricing varies greatly depending on many factors. Is your roof a repair job or a replacement? Do you have a layer of shingles underneath your current shingles or will your roof-job only entail a single layer tear off? Is your home 1,500 square feet or is it 7,000 square feet. What type of roofing materials will be required? A three tab shingle is basic, whereas stone-coated-steel roofing material is high-dollar (though a better value in terms of durability if you can afford it). All these and many other factors will affect your new-roof-pricing or your roof costs for repair.

Roof Condition: Repair or Replacement?

Of course, if your roof just needs to be repaired your roof costs and will be lower than if need an entire replacement. In this case, we will estimate your roof costs based on the amount of materials needed to do the roof repair. Next, we determine the labor necessary to complete the job. Last, we figure in our overhead and profit in order to come up with the final roof costs.

Roof replacement is altogether different, yet the process of determining the roof costs is the same. First we determine how many layers of shingles are covering your home. Most have one or two layers of shingles with solid decking underneath.

If, however, you have wood shakes under your current shingles, your roof is considered a "re-deck." A re-deck is much more expensive to do since you have to tear off two layers and relay the decking. Most of our customers' insurance policies cover the expense of re-decks.

Gutters and Siding

There are other parts of the home that can become damaged during storms like your gutters and siding. Sometimes the gutters are damaged when the roof is replaced. When there is nothing we can do to save the gutters, we include them in our estimate and tally them with the other roof costs. Gutters and siding work varies depending on the size of your house and the extent of damage, but generally this type of work is minimal compared to overall roof costs.

Interior Damage

We are also able to handle any interior damage you may have in your home due to roof leaks or storm damage. In the event you need sheetrock painting completed, we simply add it into our overall roof costs and get it done at the same time. Your insurance company will definitely cover these types of expenses for you.

Insurance Claims

Many times the insurance company will recommend that you get three bids and take the lowest one. We ask that you reconsider this and remember that the cheapest anything is not necessarily better! You could really jeopardize the quality of your workmanship if you go with the lowest bidder. Be very careful and be sure to go with the right roofing company instead of the one with the lowest new roof pricing. You pay for what you get.

Roofing Materials

Roofing materials are what causes the main variations in new roof pricing and roof costs. The type of roof you choose will determine your price. As with anything else, the more quality you desire the more your roof costs will rise. You can find information about the different roof types on the navigation section of this page. Here, we'll do a simple new-roof-pricing comparison per square of the varying roof costs for many types of roofing materials.
